The builder of our bridge was American Bridge Company, who also built San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge, and not Golden Gate. The initial project was already prepared to handle with trains, and a tunnel was built. This tunnel is used from 1999 on. I was mistaken. The bridge had been inaugurated in 1966.
