End of cheap oil = Shift in housing trend
The end of cheap oil is really turning out to be a great thing socially for this country. People are finally driving less and guess what: people are now considering living closer to their place of work! What a concept!

My bike!
I just realized I never posted my bike here. So here is my daily rider bike. A VooDoo Wanga frame with sliding dropouts and Shimano Alfine 8 speed internally geared hub. Nitto Dove bars, Axiom Champlain panniers, Tailwind front bags, Nashbar front rack, Brooks B67 antique brown saddle.

Ikea by bike - Copenhagen
IKEA of Denmark is now starting a new concept at their Danish stores. They did a bit of market research and found that roughly 20% of their customers rode their bikes to the stores…
IKEA has invested in Velorbis bikes, at a couple of their stores, that will pull trailers so that customers can ride home with the new purchases.
No big surprises here but still a cool thing to think about and quite a big commitment to car-free lifestyle by Ikea.

You know what I love to see…
…cobwebs on cars. I don’t know if there’s anything more wonderful than a good mess of spider webs connecting a car to the pavement. It also seems like my sick obsession with stationary cars is about to get fulfilled much more often: people are driving less! Saw two cars on my ride today plastered with webs and it was great. I hope to see many more ![]()
